Project Summary
“Big Walls, Big Dreams” is an ongoing series of mural installations curated by UP Art Studio in the Wynwood Business Improvement District in Miami. Each year during Art Basel Week, we facilitate the painting of walls (by internationally-recognized artists from around the world, including both fine-art and graffiti street artists). For each of the past four years, “Big Walls, Big Dreams” have been themed to address a compelling social issues such as animal rights, climate change, and basic human rights that matter to the people of Wynwood and Miami. UP Art Studio facilitates 20,000-60,000 sf. of murals annually.

Community Development and Economic Impact
Wynwood has evolved rapidly from a gritty industrial district to an emerging arts district in which people feel a newfound pride. Its creative, eclectic murals have become core to the area’s pride and identity. Thousands of people now visit the district monthly for a Saturday art walk to see the murals, curated by UP Art Studio and others. See: http://wynwoodmiami.com/explore/street-art-grid-view/.

Sponsors and Community Support
UP Art Studio forged and ongoing relationship with former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine (CEO of RoyalMP, the marketing arm of Royal Carribbean). As a partner, he has provided the walls of their properties as “giant canvasses” since 2015. Since its inception, the project also has been supported by Pepsi Beverage Company (Mountain Dew and Lifewtr brands), Epson, TruClear, AkzoNobel, Neutex Lighting, real estate companies, private art supports, and iconic artist Romero Britto, as well as the Wynwood Business Improvement District.
