The colorful history of Port Houston is celebrated in a mural we completed earlier this year at Sam Houston Landing, the site where visitors catch a boat tour of the port and Houston Ship Channel on the M/V Sam Houston. We sure enjoyed taking our kids on the free boat tour! The mural by artist Will Data features a huge, warm “Welcome to Port Houston” greeting in iconic postcard style and a series of images that tell the story of Port Houston and its history. Gotta say, we’ve learned so much more about the Port doing this project!

Fun fact: The Port of Houston supports the creation of 1.35 million jobs and economic activity totaling $339 billion in Texas.

Take a selfie with the mural when you take your own free 90-minute boat tour of the Houston Ship Channel (once they restart public tours). Or check out this video about the mural made by the great staff at Port Houston.

We have more fun projects ahead with them too!
