Need knowledge? Go straight to the source—your local library! Houston artist Dual was selected for North Houston District’s first commissioned mural hosted by the Aldine Branch Library. Dual was selected through an open Call for Artists, managed by UP Art Studio, which attracted 68 artist applications. The energetic mural is a nod to Harris County Public Library system’s slogan “Your Pathway to Knowledge” and will include an interactive augmented reality component that brings the art to life in 3D, upon completion. We’re proud to help guide the North Houston District in embracing public art as a tool for improving quality of life, pride of place, and investment in a historically low-income area. Check out a video about the project here
