How can public art beautify and economically vitalize a city? That’s the focus of our work as we develop a Public Art Master Plan for the City of Laredo. The City has dedicated “2% for Art” funding through its Capital Improvement Project program—creating a sustained funding source. Now we are helping them establish a resilient public art program, grounded in community needs and dreams. This 95% Latino city, on the border with Mexico, is truly bicultural—a source of pride and special identity that public art can reflect and honor. Check out the Public Art Survey currently open until September 30, 2021.
