Thanks to Council Member Karla Cisneros, District H is getting 4 new Mini Murals. For their conceptual renderings, artists were asked to create images that inspire hope for people who are victims of human trafficking. Please vote for the images that you feel best inspire hope and healing. Some of these Mini Murals will include the National Human Trafficking Tip Hotline number, so that the public art doubles as outreach.

If you live, work or play in District H, please check out the renderings using our online survey (bilingual) and vote for the ones you think would best enhance your neighborhood. The survey will be open through Nov. 15.

The Mini Murals sites will be:

  • Airline Dr. @ Crosstimbers St.
  • Airline Dr. @ Cavalcade St.
  • Tidwell St. @ Dodson Rd.
  • Moody Park

Speaking of community engagement, we’re actively seeking “votes” through Nov. 30 for civic art projects moving forward thanks to our client South Post Oak Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone 9 (TIRZ 9). If you’re a resident or stakeholder in the Five Corners/Hiram Clarke area, please take the online survey now! Vote for the artwork that seems like the best fit for South Post Oak – the images include vibrant floral patterns, an underwater world, an African-American woman releasing flower petals, and more. Two options are offered for each of three upcoming projects:

  • Mini Mural (at S. Post Oak Rd. & Heatherbrook Dr.)
  • A mural on a bridge crossing (at W Orem Dr. & Chimney Rock Rd.)
  • A mural at a trailhead (Sims Bayou Trail @ S. Post Oak Rd.)
